Our Mission
ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS
WHERE NONE EXISTED

Multidisciplinary Engineering

Uniting neuroscience, biomedical engineering, and AI to build a technology pipeline where none existed before.

Global Team

Expertise spanning UK, USA and India — united by one purpose: restoring quality of life to patients worldwide.

Patient-First Technology

Every engineering decision is measured against one question: does this help the patient who needs it most?

The Technology
A NEURO-IMPLANT
AT THE MOTOR CORTEX

Our biomedical implant delivers precisely-calibrated electrical impulses at the Motor Cortex Area (MCA) — stimulating nerve regeneration and restoring the signalling pathways severed by spinal cord injury.

Unlike drug-based therapies or passive rehabilitation, we actively trigger the nervous system's own regenerative capacity — validated through over two decades of research and clinical outcomes.

01

MCA-Targeted Bio Implant

Precision implant at the motor cortex delivering adaptive electrical signals to reignite dormant neural pathways below the injury site.

02

16-Channel Neural Stimulator

Developed with Oddstock Hospital (Salisbury District Hospital) — enabling fine-grained, multi-channel control over nerve and muscle activation sequences.

03

Surface Stimulation Protocols

Non-invasive external neuro-transmission forming the foundation for techniques now used globally in spinal cord injury rehabilitation.

04

AI-Driven Personalisation

Machine learning continuously refines stimulation parameters to match each patient's unique neurophysiology — beyond one-size-fits-all protocols.

05

Broad Therapeutic Reach

Research has demonstrated benefits beyond SCI — including a non-invasive Parkinson's treatment and complete elimination of pressure sores in paralysed patients.

06

Rat Model → Human Pipeline

A rigorous pre-clinical pipeline in a Rat model of SCI builds the validated evidence base required for human therapeutic trials.

Research & Milestones
TWO DECADES OF
EVIDENCE-BASED BREAKTHROUGHS

From pioneering electro-stimulation research to globally unprecedented clinical outcomes — our journey is built on rigorous science and a relentless drive to help patients.

2000 — 2003

16-Channel Neural Stimulator

Formed a world beating team to begin researching the use of electrical transmissions in the field of Regenerative Medicine, specialising in spinal cord injuries. This research has been developed into a treatment using external neuro transmission of electrical impulses to regenerate nerves and/or muscles. Surface stimulation for spinal injuries developed that has led to the development of the recent spate of surface based electro stimulation techniques being presented. Advised and developed a 16 Channel Neural Stimulator with Oddstock Hospital (Salisbury District Hospital). Note: A 16 channel implant was recently used in the USA that enabled aided mobility during 2018..

World First
2003 — 2004

Unprecedented Clinical Outcomes

Invited to conduct research in Cyprus in order to rehabilitate a paraplegic patient who had an operation to bypass spinal cord. This paraplegic patient needed surgery for a thoracic aortic aneurysm and a blood clot at the dorsal arch of the aorta. Through using the 16 channel stimulator and a course of electrical transmission to aid nerve regeneration, the patient’s muscle tone and pulse improved dramatically. Furthermore, the blood clot disappeared and the aneurysm reduced from 1.8 x 2.2mm to 1.5 x 1.0mm - results that are believed to be unprecedented anywhere in the world.

Globally Unprecedented
Other results achieved included

Parkinson’s disease

A non-invasive treatment for Parkinson’s disease that led to the withdrawal of drugs - Nerve and muscle regeneration in a patient with a fully-severed spinal cord - The disappearance of pressure sores in paralysed patients.

2004-10

Developed an Implant

We developed an implant with some of the best scientific minds in the world. Including neuro surgeons, neuro physiologists, Nano scientists and a world class team off engineers. Also developed the design and sourcing of a manufacturer for the implant device.

Advancing through animal model validation (Rat model of SCI) into a full therapeutic pipeline for human paraplegic patients — integrating AI with cutting-edge biomedical engineering at the Motor Cortex.

Active
500,000 New spinal cord injury cases every year globally (WHO). Each one is a life changed forever — and the reason we exist.
52.2% Of SCI cases are complete injuries — currently deemed irreversible. These are the patients Neurovertix is built for.
